    I'm An Engineer......................

..............I've come on here for advice but I probably will ignore it as I know what I'm doing and it will work. http://www.ukplumbersforums.co.uk/central-heating-forum/45595-diy-project-zone-my-house-3.html#post409590 A humble apology to the lads I told to get off his back. :)

DIY Project To Zone My House

Sorry Richard but that's a recipe for disaster, it's entirely the wrong attitude. Everybody has limitations, it's knowing them that's the key and keeping you out of trouble. Good luck, I'm out.

DIY Project To Zone My House

Lads, lets give the guy a break. He's come on for advice, once he has the details of what's involved then it is for him to decide on wether he believes he has the skills to complete or bring in the pro.

Or the programmable TRV's, don't know a lot about it but read a little in the John Guest paperwork I read through recently.

Plenty of pictures and plenty of questions and then take it from there. If you get in touch with one of the mods BOD, Croppie, Gas Man, System3 or Steveb (hope I haven't missed anybody :) ) they can edit the title for you.

DIY Project To Zone My House

Welcome to the forum Richard, the only comment I can give is that in my experience it's not a diy project, it's a job for a pro. But good luck in your endeavours.

    Well That Ain't Gonna Work!

Emergency call out this afternoon, warmflow, heat only oil boiler locked out. Only 5 minutes away so shot straight over. Oil was delivered yesterday at two in the afternoon and the boiler locked out last night at six when it was due to come on. So straight in, reset the lockout and it sounded...

Pump to improve hot water pressure

If you're changing boiler next summer then live with it. Whats the point of spending on a pump that you could be getting rid of in 6 months. You probably want a better plumber for the boiler change than the bathroom change tho.

    Domestic Hot Water Temp

Do you mean out the taps FC? If so it's a personal thing, the wife likes to come out the bath as red as a lobster, where I prefer it cooler.

Help with an unvented water cylinder please!!!

Here's some good advice, repeated from earlier posts, get a G3 qualified engineer to fix it for you. Your analogy with regard to cars does not hold water. It's not illegal to work on cars, it is illegal to work on unvented cylinders without the necessary qualification. You won't get any other...

    British Gas

Well there's been a lot of threads slagging off BG, with a few defending. I've had no reason to comment until today, they are muppets. Been working in a kitchen, being extended, radiators added and moved, kitchen sink moved, washing machine moved, dishwasher moved etc etc. Anyway I'd noticed...

Old Boulter Economy Combi 90 Oil Boiler

Just a quick question for the oily ones amongst us. Been out to one of the above tonight, no hot water. Uses a diaphragm to make microswitch, had the switch apart and operated switch no problem, but been told you can't get the diaphragm and have to buy the full valve. £70 + vat. Just wondered...

    £49 Oil Boiler Service.

Bloke in our local paper offering full service inc. nozzle for 49.99. Not oftec but 'trained' by well known manufacturer. Only trouble is that he can't repair them. He serviced a boiler and then it wouldn't run. I had to go in and fix it. Very expensive. Made my day though.
