Just switched the central heating on in my house and my boiler made a hissing noise for around 2-4 seconds, its a Remeha Avanta Plus and I've noticed in recent weeks that its not keeping its pressure, I can refill it fine but it will then drop back down, sometimes within hours. It's due a checkup but im not covered financially for any parts that may be needed.

Just wanted to know if this was a serious problem? If anyone knows what's up or could give me some help?

Many thanks in advance,

Jat.

Sound like an automatic air vent venting air/water. Best to get it checked out by a GSR engineer in case it's leaking inside.

Call a gas safe registered engineer as you defo need it looked at by a profesional. Or put a post on here for one of the guys to have a look. Just make sure your not running it empty . Sounds like a press problem . Only thing u can do is make sure its topped up of water and let the engineer fix the rest. Good luck

Providing gas-related advice to anybody who should not be touching gas and cannot prove their competence is unacceptable. We will take whatever action we deem appropriate to prevent such advice being given
