After cracking a really frustrating problem noted on a previous post Worcester 24SBi and the fact I had Central Heating but no hot water. I found a nackered Honeywell Syncron Zone valve. I have removed the motor assembly after checking the voltage was switching ok, and opened the valve manually, so my post is: What is the point of these Zone valves? And do I need to refit a replacement motor?

The point of the valve is to stop the water inside the cylinder over heating
Generally hot water is stored at 60 to 65 degrees and the boiler on max could get to 82 degrees.

Change the syncro motor rather than the whole valve (less costly)

gb-gas,

Thanks for the reply, thats answered that question.
I've been looking to replace just the motor as you suggested. Fleabay have some for a few pounds but not original, or do you know of a good quality supplier.
