Evening all,
I have a problem with a drayton ZA5 2 port zone actuator. The unit is not opening the zone valve despite the zone thermostat calling for heat.
I tried the zone stat in another zone and this works fine, it calls for heat and the other zone valve opens. So I am fairly sure it is not the stat.
I can manually open the valve with the lever. When I do this, the boiler and pump kick in (suggesting the internal microswitch is working fine) and the rads in the zone heat up. Of course, the zone actuators are supplied unpowered, therefore as soon as you let go of the lever, the lever moves back and the valve shuts off.
Would it be reasonable to think it's just the motor that is goosed? It was only fitted 4 months ago. I've read that on newer units the motor (syncro?) is easily replaced and should just "snap on/off". Hmm :/
Thanks chaps.
