Hi pros

I have a boiler and its a Potterton Promax HE

The problem I have is when I switch the bolier on the pilot light doesn't ignite and I get a clicking noise (constantly) ive have read the User guide and done the fault finding bit and I come to the conclusion it says contact a service engineer, before I do so does anyone suggest anything I could do to try and fix this?

I'm currently doing NVQ Lvl 2 Plumbing and heating but I'm still a novice, I'dlike to try n fix if possible myself

Thanks for any input

You know the bit where it says contact a service engineer? There's a reason for that. Yes you're learning. This lesson is called 'Know Your Limits.'

We cannot and will not give advice on the installation or repair of boilers, cookers or ANY gas appliances for your own safety.

Please go to Gas Safe Register | Ensure your gas engineer is registered. or post a thread in the 'I'm looking for a plumber / gas engineer' section of these forums remembering to include your location. Providing gas-related advice to anybody who should not be touching gas and cannot prove their competence is unacceptable. We will take whatever action we deem appropriate to prevent such advice being given
