Greenstar 24i Junior, switched off for a week. Switched it on today,
It powers up ok -but I noticed that the small green burner light indicator light is not on and the larger blue lighter beneath the control panel is flashing - subsequenty there is no heating and hot water.
Water pressure is 1.5 bar
The question is I guess - what's the problem here ? - (I have tried resetting and also completely powering off and on again

have a read of the boiler instruction manual? there is a list of reasons for the flash dependant on how its flashing. Either way if its not resetting you will need to call a engineer.

oh and welcome to the forums.

welcome to the forums, get a gas safe registered engineer in, hell fix it.

Just spoke to engineer that fitted it (away on holiday at present) , he suggested firstly to check the pump - he talked me through that - and pump is definitely working, the blue light flashes about 2 times per second.

Thanks wll have to check the actual install date. I had original installer's mate come over today - it's the fan that has gone, he also spoke to Worcester to confirm the wiring of the fan before he did checked the electrics to it. Also noticed that the condensing bottle was full up and clogged with 'silt'.
I just hope he can get a spare fan and fit by Friday - as we have guests coming. Thanks for all your help and comments

its common to find fine grains in the condense trap on worcester boilers, it should have been cleaned out on your last annual service.

Did he clean the trap out and then try the boiler before telling you the fan had gone?

Fans are a common fault on them to be honest.

Chocolate Worcester fan strikes again
The fans fitted to Worcester boiler of recent years are well know for being fragile

Check out the cost of repair as the fan can be expensive, may work out a better deal to get Worcester out on afix`d price repair, you can spred the costs and will get a 12 Mth warranty on boiler.

Fair to play to him, he looked at the trap, - it was full of water, and silt, he had checked the fan before and after he cleaned it out - still no joy with the fan though. I also noticed that there was water on the plastic foot plate where the fan is, cant be any more technical than that sorry.
Just bought a new fan - £131 +vat ....ouch
