hi folks,

Looking for some advice. there is a loud fog horn noise coming from the pipes in my flat, the pipe seems to vibrate at this time, it last for about 15mins and only seems to happen in the morning between 5am-7am. I am not using any taps, shower, washing machine at this time (as i am in bed). I have noticed that my neighbours are up at this time.but could there appliances be causing this to happen?

I have noticed recently that i have a leaking stopcock in my cupboard and the pipes are very cold to the touch. Could this be the cause? My water pressure appears to be ok.

does anyone have any ideas what i can do.

any advice would be grateful

ross

Well you may have a join tank with the other flats in the roof or the sound is vibrating down the cold main that seems to run in your cupboard
Probable cause of noise ,the ball valve in one of the tanks, requires replaceing
The leaking stopcock may just be the mains pipework sweeting due to cold water running through it in your warm cupboard, lag the cold pipework, this should cure problem

sounds like a ballcock somewhere needing a new washer. if you share a cold water tank it could be there but its most likely be a toilet somewhere in the building.

where i stay i can hear my next door neighbours one going some mornings and thats in a whole different building to me!
