PLEASE HELP!
I am going to try and keep this as brief as possible but basically I have had my hot water cylinder replaced inc all elements, thermostats etc, but the top element (day time electricity) only heats about 1/3 baths-worth of water but no more. The previous element used to heat the volume equivalent to a whole baths-worth plus more, after having it switched on for a short time. I can have the electricity switched on to the new element (thermostat set at 75oC) for a few hours but it never seems to heat up any more than the amount described.
This is very curious as the old element was 11" and the new element 14", so if anything the new element should be better. Also can anyone explain how much water the top element can heat as a 'top-up'. I understand the economy 7 element at the bottom can heat a FULL tank of water, and quickly, as heat rises, but what governs how much water the the top element heats through conduction/convection??
Thanks in advance....
