I have to provide a quote for a landlord in work. It's a large town house, the tenant has complained it takes ages for the hw to reach the kitchen. Big granite work tops which i don't fancy drilling through to fit something separate so said i would get a quote for a kitchen mixer that has a boiling water tap included.

I don't have lots of room under the sink for the storage but there's enough to squeeze something in.

Any recommendations?

How easy are they to fit?

I have had a quick look at the quooker ones but would rather fit something that is recommended.

Thanks

Are you intending to use it for filling the sink and so on, or just for hot water for coffee /tea.

I wouldn't recommend using one for sink filling or the like - they wouldn't cope with the capacity required.

Should also add,

Don't know about having 95 degree water being used to fill a sink. That's why they have minimal capacity and a very slow flow rate

Quooker ones are easy to fit. But they are only for filling a cup. Even thT takes about a minute! So no good for a sink.
Why not fit a small unvented heater ? 3kw, so it can be plugged into the msins.

Quooker combi tank and fusion tap, fitted one on Thursday, piece of cake and the unit does both the boiling water and hot (Blended with cold main)

Can work out expensive so not for every customer.

When you fit something like that, where do you get the power from?

Could i fit a fused spur and come off the power from the dish washer for example?

Quookers need a 13 amp supply, they come with a plug so you just plug it in.

Thanks for the replies.

Unvented storage thing would be better I have fitted a few of them but no space, massive water softener under the sink and a load of pipework. The Quookers are a bit more slimline so would be better just for the reason of space.

It's an old guy living there with his wife (tenants) and he seemed to think the tenant wouldn't go for it but going to send a quote off anyway.

He didn't seem too bothered with the quantity of hot water it was more a case of time it takes so like has been said maybe not enough to do the washing up but it could start it of while the hot is coming from the cylinder.

unvented cylinder?

Williams Do an instant hot water tap. 3kw and the heaters in the tap.

What about one of them dooberries that slows the water down until it's hot?
help the hex get hotter quicker with less cold water flowing through it as it tries to get up to temp.
Never fitted one but have seen one and it took about 10-15 seconds to get full hot flow, it's not fitted at the tap end, it's at the boiler end so doesn't wait for a pipe run of cold water to pass before it opens up.
I'll have a look if I can find out what it's called.
