Hi All

It would appear I have lost water supply to an ensuite bathroom but its on everywhere else.

Previous owner put two DIY ensuites on two bedrooms - the master and a loft room. To be honest his DIY skills were less than impressive so when ever anything goes wrong with these bathrooms I always think hes at fault.

Could the water supply be due to cold weather (this is one of the colder rooms but not freezing) or what else might be the cause??

What are the implications of losing water supply to just one room should I be turning the water off everywhere until we know whats happened to avoid a leak etc?? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Yes that was my first instinct but the loft ensuite is working - its the middle room thats packed up and water is working everywhere else. Didnt have the predicted chill of last night so its not that cold. Have opened the taps incase something does warm up and am keeping heating on fingers crossed

Yes lost all water - hot cold, sink shower and loo. I think the freeze diagnosis is most likely as by mid afternoon the cistern began refilling. Odd one that one room on the middle floor would freeze but to be fair this room faces the front of the house and the ensuite has no independent heating. Might put a duvet on the floor tonight as its set to be even colder.

Its times like this maybe carpet is a better idea than tiled flooring!

Cheers for all the replies

Ball valve in cistern? Did climb up there and it seemed OK.

The whole ensuite is on life support TBH and I too am anxious about a burst pipe imminently - I have the access to the stopcock opened up and ready to run to. I can pray all I like but the weather forecasters are telling me not to waste my breath. This is gonna be a hard year for useless home maintenance peeps like me

Even the cat is eyeing up the neighbours log fire
