no hot water

I have a combi boiler and the hot water in the downstairs taps is really hot but upstairs in the bathroom the water in the bath and basin is lukewarm at best, any ideas on what is causing this ???

only a normal size house, pipe run from boiler to bath is 6 metres max, so would have thought ma boiler could cope with that ??

it's 22mm coming into bathroom and reduces to 15mm just at the tap connectors ??

dumb question but what is the temperature of the boiler? As from memory (so long ago ) you will lose about 1-2 degrees for every metre of copper pipework the water has to travel.

So if set at 40 degrees (enough to wash up) when you get upstairs you could be looking at 30 degrees and its not normally enough.

Sound like the sytem used to be an open vent setup (22mm pipes right up to bath taps) and has been converted to a combi system.

only diference between the water downstairs and the water up stairs is the pipe run and the tap
what ive always found to be the problem is the boiler hasnt had its flow restricted to what ever it sould be and the taps up stairs flow to much water for the combi to heat
simple test is to run the upstairs taps at a slow flow and see if the water then gets hot im sure it will
the cure is to slow the flow through the boiler by closing the inlet valve or there may be a seperate regulator
