Hi, I'm trying to build a prop with clear plastic pipes and coloured liquids in them. I don't know anything about plumbing but bought 50mm OD clear acrylic pipe and 50mm fittings. I thought the pipe would fit very snugly in these fittings but it's completely loose and the fittings measure about 56mm in ID even though 50mm is printed on the side. How do I get a watertight connection? Do I need to buy some extra component to put on the pipe before I attach the bends? I've attached an image of the pipe and bend. Any help would be much appreciated :)

They are designed to take 50mm inside diameter pipe. So will be bigger. Might be better going to a motor factor and getting some rubber bends.

That elbow in the picture is solvent weld. You could try a push fit elbow, as they are for slightly less diameter pipe.
A plastic compression type elbow should also do, but might not be what you want.

Get a piece of 50mm solvent weld waste pipe and glue it in the end of the fitting.
Then glue the clear pipe inside that.

ps, 50mm solvent waste pipe and glue won't be cheap.
