Hi,

I have an ideal esprit HE 24 boiler. I only purchased my first house in March this year and no very very little about boilers.

A couple of nights ago I had a pressure fault code showing. I looked online and I have now re-pressurised the system using the filling loop. I have re-pressured the system to 1.0bar (had dropped to 0.5bar). When I switch my boiler on, it still shows the low pressure error message.

I noticed that my boiler has a reset button. Is it normal to have to reset the boiler after re-pressuring the system?

A lot of boilers just reset themselves I can't say for certain about your boiler as I have never worked on one but a few of them you do have to reset.

From the manual, it seems to suggest a reset:-
Check pressure gauge on boiler shows a minimum of 1 bar. If not re-pressurise via the filling
loop to 1 bar (if unsure contact your installer), turn off the tap on the filling loop and turn the on/
off switch (A) off and then back on again to reset the boiler
. If unable to do so or if the pressure
continues to drop after filling then contact your installer.

Have you vented all your radiators ? you need to make sure that system is completely full, if after you have done this and fault still shows , then you will need to call in a boiler engineer .

Thanks for your responses. I bled the radiators after re-pressurising but still no joy. Think I will call in an engineer. Thanks all

It could well be the pressure sensor is broken. A very common part to fail on almost all boilers. A good engineer shouldn't charge you too much to change one although the prices on the part can vary wildly.

Press the reset button before you get an engineer out, but get a gas safe registered engineer to give it s check over and annual service.
