Hi - I am new to this forum. So perhaps foolishly sending in a question without searching through the forum for the answer. Briefly. we are going to refit and tile our bathroom. First time we have attempted such a task. We wish to put in isolator valves/shutoff's on both cold and hot water pipes leading to the cold/hot taps for the bath, basin and the cold for the toilet cistern. Before taking out our old bath we are stuck with how to turn off the hot water so we can attempt to cut the relevant pipes and install the isolators. Our plan is with these in place we can remove the bath, toilet and basin yet still have hot running water elsewhere around the house.

We have an indirect boiler and central heating system. Things to mention, valve/wheel on 22mm pipe coming from loft but cannot turn it even with a bit of force. And another wheel on 22mm pipe coming out of bottom pipe which turns but does not stop hot water running.....

Been in this house 5 years and real first DIY involving plumbing. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Russell
