All, I have recently installed a new bathroom sink with a mono tap. Since then, the water takes forever to drain and the sink fills up if i let the water run. I dont think i have a block as noting fell into the drain pipe when I installed the basin. I have the PVC pipes from the basin connected to the cast iron waist leading to the outside. The diameter of the waist is 32mm (could that be the problem? ) . Also the basin waist does not align to the cast iron pipe so im using muliple connects so that the basis waist can reach the cast iron pipe. Any help please!!!!!

Oh yes i ive disconnected the trap and checked its empty . I tried the bottle trap and U trap. Ive got one of those push drains. You press the basin drain and the water drains and press again to stop it. The outlet has two overflow holes but the basin only has one. So i allign the outlet inline with the hole of the basin. Could the problem be there? The water drains very slowly.

they are m8:(

my next suggestion is to raise the height of the plug clearance, there is normally a brass screw and nut under the plug to do this.
this will let more water flow down the waste, but you dont want it to high

Yes ive got this brass screw and nut but never added that to my basin installation. could not figure out where it has to go.. how do i fit that?
the screw raises the height of the plug and the nut secures it.
put the nut onto the screw bolt, screw into the back of the plug till you get desired height, tighten up nut to back of plug to lock it up;)

great.. i think i got it.. will give it a shot tonight. BTW. The waste is very similar to this one with two holes, one each side . http://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/popup_image.php?pID=820

So i removed the bottle trap and the basin did not fill up. I noticed that there is a slight incline from basin pvc fitting to the cast iron pipe. Could that be it or perhaps a blocking somewhere?

ok.. So now im puzzled. I lifted the basin (vanity united) so that there is a decline angle to the cast iron pipe.. that didnt work. So disconnected the whole thing and ran a hose for about 1minute down the cast iron pipe only. It didnt backwash.. so what is going on???:(

:) DONE IT!!!!. Dont ask me how.. I just undone all the pipe work. Alligned the waist hole correct and tightened everything.. thats it.. water flowing smoothly now.. Thanks for all your help.. :D
