Hi,
Just had a second gas boiler fitted. Daughter and family live in a annex.
Should each boiler have its own gas stopcock. I know it makes sense, but is it gas safe regulations that each gas appliance can be turned off independently?
Cheers

In flats the gas supply has an emergency control valve at point of entry, is the annex just an add on?

The gas supply has main stopcock before the meter, then to boiler 1, which is upstairs. This has its own stopcock cock.
At the main meter it decides to boiler number 2.
So boiler 1 can be turned off independently but to turn off boiler 2, the whole house stopcock has to be turned off.

Then no. So long as its in the locality and all users in the parts of the building have a key for access / or access.

Are you saying that the second boiler doesn't have a gas cock installed near the boiler?
Do you have to turn the gas off at the meter to shut the gas off to the second boiler?

In the end, I had the firm come back and put in a lever valve after the junction of the gas main so each boiler can be isolated separately.
When the guy was here, there is an isolation valve under the boiler that needs a screwdriver to operate it. However this is covered by a plastic under tray. Don't like the idea that a muggins like me taking even the under tray off to get at a valve, as I thought non gas safe people should not mess at all with a gas boiler.
