I have had this fitted for about 8 months, it's been brilliant. The heating has not been used for the past 5 months but we have noticed that the pump appears to be running all the time although no water is being used.the water light on the panel is lit most of the time but not all the time.I don't want to wait until the weather changes to discover a bigger problem and finish up with no heating.I don't want to call the engineer out for nothing and wondered would it be any good turning the power off to the boiler and pressing the reset button.

Also if I do turn the power off for reset will it loose all of the wireless thermosat settings.
Thank you

Hi. You should refer to the instructions you have with your system. If not see if you can download some regarding your controls

Is your viessmann is a 200, you can adjust the pump times, failing that you should have 5 yr warranty if its within that time, ring them you wont have too pay

Hi it will depend on how your systems is set up. I fit a lot of Viessmann units and I find them brilliant, the controls can be a little difficult if your not working with them day in day out. Agree with other comments here, first call Viessmann as it should be under warranty, but I doubt it will be faulty and they may charge you! If not then the set up coding is wrong or may need adapting slightly, without being there its almost impossible to tell, the set up is different for the 100 to the 200 series units. Then you need to work out if you have a weather compensated unit or constant temp unit, then find out the coding address, is it on the Heating circuit or the DHW? As a common set fault, I would hazard a guess at the code is 73:7 and should read 73:0 but that again would be dependent how it was set up. Would your installer not come and have a look? Hope all this helps.

Is this a combi boiler?

Is it the 100 or 200 series?

When you first had it installed, was the pump running all the time? Are you sure it's not the pump overrun after you have drawn HW or had the CH on? Does it ever go off or is it permanently running?
