Went to one on Thursday night. Sooted up, eight foot in the air, blowing a gale and snowing. Not a chance, went back today. Couldn't get the flaming insulated box off. Cleaned it up best I could, unplugged solenoid and sparked it into life a few times to blow out more soot. Fired it up and spotted the problem. The insulated liner is pouring out poc and the boiler is sucking it in. Sealed it up best i could but had to use a spacer to leave a gap at the bottom of the cover to allow it to get enough fresh air to keep running clean.

Looked like the box had never been off since it was installed. Its about ten years old.

Priced up a new box as I will have to destroy the old box to get it off. Nearly 500 notes including vat. Cant believe how much for it.

Wall hung oil boilers are always a bit rubbish IMHO all a bit of a compromise to get them to a 'reasonable' weight and size
