Thermowatt 143 - what is its temperature range?

Hi All

I was wondering what is the temperature range for the Thermowatt 143 copper ‘thermostat for my immersion heater? There seem to be one dot and then two dots towards the max.

Also my gas boiler usually heats up the water in the cylinder controlled by the thermostat connected to boiler,my immersion is connected to my solar panels and starts heating when energy is produced, If the temperature setting of my immersion thermostat is set higher than the boiler thermostat, im I correct in thinking that it will ignore the boiler thermostat and heat upto the immersion thermostat temperature setting .?

When those stats are in that position ( pic ) they are generally 60/65 degrees , your boiler on and off for hot water is controlled by your cylinder stat , not the boiler stat

You have its type number, it's modern so why not Google? Its what we'd have to do

One thing I can tell you is that it will NOT go past 75 degrees. The reset is in the small hole and normally set at that so you don't get thermal runaway and put boiling water into plastic header tanks which then leak and kill babies underneath - fact.

You are correct. It would.

TBH, if it were mine, I'd have some controls configured such that as the immersion cuts in it inhibits the water heating from the boiler. You are better off using your 'free' energy than paying for gas. By configuring the HW regen times you can check at points during the day to see if the boiler needs to top it up. Its really not difficult just needs thinking about.
BTW. There is zero point having your immersion set higher than the boiler set point. You may as well export as much as you can to save 'wasting' the energy.

I have googled it but getting contradictory searches, the model number is thermowatt 143 copper.

My other point was I have two thermostats on my cylinder, one connected to gas boiler, other to immersion, the immersion is connected to my solar panels, so if the immersion thermostat was set higher than the other thermostat connected to gas boiler, when it was in operation with the solar panels will it ignore the thermostat connected to boiler and just heat up using the immersion thermostat? I get deemed 50% exporting energy no matter how much I export.

You don't need another stat. What you need is a relay.

The information you need to find the manual is ON THE STAT.

Get hold of a thermometer that reads from 0 - 100°C. (Ones for cooking meat work quite well.) Set the adjuster on your immersion to half-way between max and min, which will be approximately 55°C. Use the system normally for a day. A day later, check that the water being delivered at your hot tap is 55°C. If it is too low rotate the adjuster by one-hour (as on a clock face) in the '+' direction. If it is too high rotate by an hour in the other direction. After a couple of days doing this you should be spot on.
