worst team in the premiership they said , no money they said, we wouldnt last a season they said , we would be bottom all season they said .

They got it wrong , the Town are staying up !!!

They did get wrong Jon however only by one year :D How do you feel now? The manager quit you coz he could see the writing on the wall and your strikers couldn`t hit a barn door from the halfway line :p

Don`t think you will survive this year mate.

Yep it will be the biggest comeback in premiership history if we stop up . We have the worse couple of strikers we have ever had , fecing useless the pair of them . What you wont know is behind the scenes there are problems, the club went up for sale yesterday, our owner is very poorly , and tbh we all just want him back , fec the football.

How much to buy the club? Maybe we members could have our own footie team? Then again ........ it`s Huddlesfield.............................. nah not for me. :p

Changing the subject, did the house sale go through in the end? Seem to remember a problem with a long standing walkers right of access through your lounge (?).

You will love this .... charge from the council to close the path i.e a line on a map , not a physical path , they are only altering a map , get ready ...
Between 3 - 7.5 K . Good night .

WxF!!!! (leave you to fill in the middle letter),
Is this a "How many people does it take to change a map" situation for gawds sake! No wonder you are somewhat peeved.
Goodnight.

Isn't deleting a ROW via a 'Definitive Map Modification Order' supposed to be a free process? How are they justifying the charge?

If only pal !!! , if you have ever read it anywhere please pass it on .
It is a very broard estimate but generally works out between the 3 k and 7.5 k and that depends basically on how much work the officer has to do to move the ******* path .
The whole saga would make a good film , and nothing’s actually happened yet . The bit that really hurts is I have found out when the planning permission was given to build the house in 1988 , the ****** planners passed it knowing the path would be in the garden !!!!!!!!!!! WTF .
I emailled a councillor last week who probably wishes I hadnt lol .
The saga continues...

A quick sample of LA websites say 'no charge', as does this Govt document in section 9 but there appear to be some loopholes for the council to recover 'costs', which I assume are what's being used to screw you:

https://assets.publishing.service.g...ent_data/file/414670/definitive-map-guide.pdf

Not a process I've ever had to use myself, thank goodness. You can sometimes negotiate discretionary charges down by saying you consider X to be reasonable cost-recovery for them and any more than Y and you'll be requiring a detailed breakdown of the 'costs' with evidence that they were incurred and will be appealing anything that looks unreasonable. Council workers hate appeals because of the disruption and extra work they have to do so will often look favourably a way to avoid them.

On the other hand, there is a point of view that says that if you have a legal problem preventing sale of your house, £7.5k to make it go away is annoying but not as bad as it could be. As soon as it's resolved, the house will presumably become a bit more valuable to a buyer, which is presumably why the council feel entitled to charge you for their 'costs'.

Good luck, anyway
