Did you attempt to hang the vertical rad to those brackets?
I would find it very offensive if a customer told me they could hang the rad better than me.

Scondary title to this should read .

'when the plumber says'

Sorry due to the brackets being askew I now have to alter my pipework to fit the 'askew ' column rad .
This will be classed as an extra which will be alot .
