Fitting a whole house pump.

Hello

I'm trying to fit a whole house pump. There seems to be two inlets. One is called a pressure port. Any ideas what it is?

If you cannot decipher the manual, then you really do need a plumber as the consequences can be quite catastrophic...

The instruction manual seems to be quite informative re the 2 connections.

Quick google, just about makes out that it’s not a U.K. thing. I think he’s in another country

What is the diameter of the well? If it is greater than 3 inches, then use a dual nozzle into the well. The suction pipe is the longest one and the pressure pipe attaches to the nozzle plate about 12 inches above the suction nozzle.

If it is a very narrow well, use a single nozzle and connect the pressure port to the nozzle flange plate at ground level.

The preferred option is obviously the single nozzle.

All the connections on the suction line and pressure line must be air tested to 2 bar before installation. Any air leaks, no matter how small with seriously impact the performance of the pump.

As you probably know the pump must be charged with air and fully primed, before the first switch on. If you don’t you will get an airlock, and probably a knackered bearing.

Most probably Thai since Hitachi has a factory there.
