Hi guys, got a Worcester greenstar 30cdi to service, I checked it last year and fan pressure was with acceptable limits but boilers 5 years old thos year so will need burner cleaning out. Am I right in thinking you need a special brush as well as a burner gasket or is it just the gasket I need? Thanks

Yes best to around £30 for the seal and gasket

Plus another £10-£20 for the top gasket

Also electrodes

Thanks chaps, never serviced a Worcester before so thought I'd double check. Is the top seal and front seal seperate items then, don't they sell a kit that comes with both and the brush kit?

Brush and front seal eg the door will come as one

Top seal is separate

Also electrodes are Separate

Ok thanks, how likely is it the electrodes will need changing?

Highly normally last around 5 years max (pic was 6 and giving ea lockout once and a while)

You can also do the bearning plate if it hasn’t been done

TBH around £150 coves is ish

Yeah looking around £80 for parts and should allow 2 hours labour as I've not done one before so don't need to be rushing.

He will soon moan if you don't strip & then it goes **** up in the middle of the winter.
Do it once & do it properly.
He can then start saving for the next time it reqs a major strip/service out if boiler lasts that long.
Best to change the bearing plate also because it usually takes the fan out if one of the flaps separates & goes through.
Cheers,
Andy
