High pressure solvent welded plastic pipe

Is I believe what this is. Posted a pic of some a while back and think Shaun identified it thus.

Want to change the inlet and float valve the pipework pictured feeds. I know in both instances I could change washer but want to have a plan B and C.

Am I likely to find that my fibre washers, hep tap connector washers etc will be a poor fit if I want to undo these connections and change washer? And if so end up mucking about making washers out of PTFE?

If I wanted to cut back and join onto the pipe, would I likely need some sort of big ugly philmac? Plus it look

Plus it appears to have been painted (?) so might that scupper getting a good seal if the paint is a pig to get off the plastic? I know it's fine with copper but for all I know this stuff may adhere like crazy.

You should be fine with your fibre/ rubber washers but the problem is the stuff is brittle as hell and tends to snap

They sell compression adapters but tbh more likely to snap when tightening

So be careful

Whatever you do, I would put isolation valves upstream of cistern and tank.
There are some fitting that glue inside the pipe, so you won't have to remove the paint.
Not sure if you guy's have them. We call them repair couplings.

Pipe center will sell glue and fittings for this but you need to identify the size which will probably be imperial. Last time I brought some I had to buy 2 fittings going to female iron Then end feed male it. Glue takes about 8 hours plus to set tho, so can be a pain. They did make a fast set glue but it's hard to find now.

What's it actually called? Was there a brand name?

It looks like Duropipe to me but it should be stamped along the pipe.
