I have only fitted one
The white inner was just poking outside, i think the wall was 280mm thick and I had to extend the black part out past the eves so had to add a bracket. Wasnt easy to fit.

Yeah they're rubbish. Had exactly the same problem, first one I did I took back and swapped. Just use a normal horizontal flue and cut down as required....They say allow 24-28mm on the bracket side, however I find that 28mm can be touch and go. I usually allow 32mm and have no issues. Usually easiest pushing flue through, setting up and marking it on the side when the bracket is on the wall.

Make sure you silicone grease the sockets up plenty on back of boiler for when you hang it makes it easier.

I was told I couldn't use a standard flue under 550mm because of the turbulace it would cause in the flue ? I only had 328mm, the joint where the two telescopic ends when fully inserted needs tapeing and screwing I could just see the joint didn't see any white showing the wall weathering collar is pony and I am not going to use that I have a rubber type one which is slightly wider and it will cover the taped joint and weather proof the joint against the wall , I have to tooth out the wall as the original boiler was a balanced flue , on the whole bit of a faf but got it now so will get it done as MI will post once completed. Cheers kop

Have also been told to avoid these. Not had the pleasure of one before. I always use standard and cut to size. Does it screw to the rear flue port like the standard?
No mate it is screwed to the wall bracket fixed at 24 - 28 mm protruding , the boiler hangs on the bracket and the weight of the boiler helps insert the it into rear flue spigot .

The MI flue instructions say you can use the standard flue if the rear one isn’t suitable.

Not what technical support told me bud don't shoot the messenger :rolleyes: nowhere does it say use a horizontal standard flue only ducts for extensions . Cheers kop

That's for the Telescopic one mate, there's something somewhere that states if you cannot achieve the minimum length for the rear telescopic flue it's acceptable to use the standard horizontal flue and cut it down. I've read it somewhere before. Just had a quick skim through and can't see it, although the books aren't always the best reading material.

Sorry, it's been a long day - it says on there

Do not shorten the telescopic flue pipe. If the required pipe length cannot be achieved, use extensions or the horizontal wall/roof duct.

Your screenshot got cut off on the forum picture.

Thought i'd seen it somewhere 😂
