Hi Everyone,
Just thought I'd post a picture showing a whole new approach of terminating a fanned flue.
Installed by a loft conversion specialist!!!(more likely a family friend.)

Unbelievable!!!

Specialist to me always sounds like they only know how to do 1 thing.
If that's the case then they should stick to it.

Phew a belter that one , I suppose if they paint the flue and squerty foam black , it may look a bit better

Lol how long was the flue in total.

Being binary and practical although it is ugly as sin, is there really anything wrong with this installation...from a GSR point of view ..centralheatking

Yes it's wrong. Incorrect termination with no approved pitched roof flashing. There should be 'No white in sight' I can't see any flue support brackets, incorrect fall & the joints are not screwed to stop them coming apart or twisting. I could go on but these are the real no-no's.

Hi,
I couldn't show the whole 14 meters flue plus 3x 90°bends and 2x 45° bends. All unsupported and laying in floor void between 1st floor and loft. Customer called me an a##hole for disconnecting it cos it's been ok for the last 3 years CP12's !!!!

What boiler was it Dave and max flue length.

Vaillant eco TEC pro 28. 8m incl 1x 90°.
Equivalent length installed 17m🤔🤔🤔

Well CHK you tell us what right about it ? my fellow engineers have covered it well above , the installer needs to be brought to book and made to retrain this type of install is totally unacceptable, would you be happy with that install in your property ? I somehow think not. Kop
