Hi , I’ve just bought a house and there’s a big towelrail on one of the radiators, it looks really ugly and no use to me , I want to remove it and wanted to ask if it is ok to remove the towelrail and put blank cups on ? Would it affect anything else with heating?

Any pictures of the towel rail ?

I’m adding pictures, hope it helps

Yep close the valves and then some 1/2 brass caps once the towel rail has been removed

don t forget to turn the rad off first at the base, then turn towel rad off, there will be water from the rad remmember still under presure so be awhere of that .
