Hi Everyone,

I hope someone might be able to help me please. I have recently paid a fortune to have my en suite shower room refitted and part of this was the fitting of a dual fuel towel rail.

I have been having some problems with it but have recently noticed that one of the valves seems to be fitted the wrong way. I have attached a couple of photos which shows the valve in question. You can see that the rotatiting knob is hitting the bottom tube of the towel rail. The other valve is the same type only it is a straight valve, non TRV.

I have 2 questions if I may please?

1. Does this seem the right way to fit this valve?

2. Is there another valve which could be fitted to allow it to be opened or rotated correctly without jamming on the towel rail?

It seems really odd to me but I have no knowledge of this trade and really hope someone can advise me please.

Thank you in advacnce for your expert help.

Regards,

Davie

Is it fully open ?

It’s one of them the tee probably stopped / was tight in that position I had the same with the below picture and I had to physically put too much force and rotate it more as it was hitting like yours

One of these would fit if acceptable to the eye

Or you could used a corner version of the valve, so the knob would point forward, if that was acceptable?

Most obvious would be a horizontal valve, as mentioned, with the valve head pointing to the left, but I couldn't immediately find one of a similar design.

Your post suggests you think the valve is a TRV, but it looks like a manual valve to me. If it is a TRV, it certainly won't work properly with its head touching the radiator!

Thats pure shoddy and they must have known that they fxcked up

Just complain politely to the installer by email and ask them to come back to rectify.

Keep it civil and polite, so when they refuse you can use the communication to claim the costs of a 3rd party via MCOL
