Hi all,

I just got a quote for bathroom and WC plumbing LABOUR only first and second fix £3850 for the following:

Bathroom:
  • Single ended (freestanding style) bath with wall mounted 3TH taps
  • Thermostatic exposed shower valves
  • Pedestal basin with 3TH taps
  • Toilet with concealed cistern top access
  • Radiator
  • New soil pipe to join existing soil stack outside (2.5m long extension)

WC:
Small vanity unit basin with 1TH
Standard toilet

Also included in price is combi boiler relocation in bathroom which is going up in height from its existing location by just 30cm - staying in bathroom but just a small relocation.

And as well new 2 zones system for the boiler.

The bathroom is only 2.6x1.9 in size. It’s a small family bathroom.

To give you context, I am based in north-west and live in 3 bed semi-detached property.

Would appreciate your thoughts/opinions whether £3850 is reasonable or too high?

Is it already two zone heating / what’s the plan ?

It

It is one zone currently. Looking to have two zones (upstairs and downstairs) so that’s added to price.

Also boiler to be moved in same place but upwards in height by 30cm ish for ease of access. Again that’s added to price

That would cost a fair bit as you need to find all the circuits split them and run new main runs probably 1-1.5k in that

Would that involve high material cost?
Plumber is suggesting 1500-2000 for materials potentially

It’s 3 bed semi by the way

Shouldn’t be estimated around the 800-1k mark it’s more labour as lifting floors etc

Max 2 bundles of 22mm
Bundle of 15mm
Fittings and clips
Two two ports
Dual prog / prog room stats
Bypass

Tbh your 3/4 of the way there repiping it’s only the drops to the rads that are left so if you want to upgrade some rads or move them best time to do it also don’t do it in push fit if you can help it and stay away from 10mm

Thanks for this I appreciate it.

I am just trying to think.. would be worthwhile having two zones or one zone would be fine? Looking at the scheme of things looks like it’s going to be around £2K for labour and materials to convert it to two zones

Can I ask you why you want two zones ?

If it’s for efficiency then it’s backwards as it won’t help will be inefficient etc

I only want it because of convenience.

Let’s say I’m downstairs at night, I can turn upstairs on. I only imagine doing that during Oct till April really. Not everyday though

If you have the spare funds go ahead as it
will improve it for you etc
