Hi Friends
I’m a Premises Manager responsible for a large Primary School, its actually two Schools combined with differing vintages of Buildings, and as the person in charge of maintenance I come upon some interesting problems with a mixture of Old and New plumbing fittings, any specific advice you can offer to help solve my problems would be much appreciated.

But please, I beg you don't try to be a Smart Alec and say “Call a Plumber” I was most likely plumbing 10 years or more before you finished your apprenticeship, and calling in a Plumber or any Trade is an absolute last resort because budgets are so tight, so if you Can’t be Nice, Please Be Quiet !

Best regards Julie

Hello and welcome

This very negative post isn't what the forum thinks - crack on with asking for advice and choosing who you wish to do the plumbing work
Hi Julie,

Welcome..

But probably wrong places, no plumbers here. We are all jokers playing at it 😂

Possibly not the best start to a “I may need some help” but hey ho. You can but ask…

However you may get “you need a plumber” as you have clearly stated it’s an educational facility. And unfortunately certain aspects will require time served, qualified and insured workmen to carry out the works as the health implications with water, drainage etc.

One should read the world health organisations very high regard to our trade and heed the necessity of a suitably qualified work “Persons” before attempting repairs on your own that may in fact leave things in a worse state.

Good luck though 👍

Use a Plumber from the forum not a Plumber from Facebook.
Hi Mrsfixit,

When the experienced plumbers, gas fitters etc. tell people on here who ask for advice to get a plumber in, isn’t being, as you say, a smart Alex. They are saying that because the job or fault really does require a suitably qualified tradesman or woman to fix the problem, not someone who thinks they know what to do. For example in a commercial property like a school I would always advise using a tradesman or woman to do the repair.

Welcome aboard Julie. Don't suppose you're the Julie on our electrical forum are you?

Welcome either way. :D

That is the worst reply I've ever seen.

I can only assume you're here to troll then?

You're welcome here Julie. You don't always need to pay to get a qualified plumber in. Anybody and everybody can do whatever they want with their water plumbing systems. And get groundworks if they need them, get gas engineers if they need them. But to change a radiator and things like that - anybody can do.

I hate your type of reply that assumes plumbing is some godly trade but it isn't. It's just plumbing lol

So lay off our members pal or you'll be short lived here mate.
