aldi tools not working

i have a number of tools that have stopped working, usually aldi ones lol, on a sander, i have fault traced the problem with a multi meter to the circuit where the continuity ends, from using a magnifying glass, the problem seems to be a burned out 'diode' maybe, i think lol, not an electrican here, is there anything that can be done with these cheap circuit boards or should i just throw it out?

Hi there, sorry you’re having problems, I find Aldi power tools to be very good at the price, as to your issue, Aldi do a very good three year warranty on there tools, and if you’re outside that period, then you can still obtain spares for most things, provided of course you know what you’re doing.

As you say you’re not an electrician, are you electrically qualified as any other kind of technician, otherwise I would suggest you leave well alone and buy another tool, it’s worth noting though that the “diode” May well be a suppressor to prevent electrical interference to TV and Radio signals .
