And used with 28mm compression? Thanks

Flush pipes. Are there only two types/sizes?

The ones on cisterns like Grohe etc. Are they all 50mm - 40mm? And then the types you normally get with standard cisterns like Fluidmaster. So if you see one of the larger type would this fit any of them (pan and cistern end): Geberit Concealed Cistern 2" Flush Pipe & Rubber Cone 50mm x 44mm...

    Shower prob

Type where water comes out of the bathoverflow and the other controls (i think from memory) do shower or bath filling. Temperature control is really inaccurate, goes from scalding to cold and very imprecise. You can spin it round a few full 360's one way or t'other. I've never installed one...

Is this steel > copper > lead

And if so can I put a new piece of copper straight into compression? And will modern olives work in existing fitting or will it be some old thing needed that I don't have? It's hard to get to, photo taken blind by sticking my hand down there. Can get tools to it but not eye level with fitting...

Rusting rad on hot water circuit

Woman has a rad that's rusting in the bathroom. It gets hot with the hot water. It's been ages since I read about this on here and I can't remember but I have a feeling it needs to be a special type of rad? Just looks like standard CH rad. Advises, if'n you please.

    Sprung bath wastes

I've only installed a couple and not for people I've heard from since. Done loads of basin ones. Jamming up aside, anyone know if bath ones are less reliable or holding water in? Got a woman who says last plumber tried two diferent types and both - after only being in for a short while - no...

Worcester(i think) boiler pressre top up key leak

Whichever brand it is that has the square headed white key underneath you turn to top up pressure. Had some that dribble a bit when turned. Tried one the other day that proper pee'd out. How do you sort it? Because even though turning it off again stops it leaking filling up a system must be a...

    changing this shower...

current mira 88 doesn't look like it can be installed with supplies from above. and any shower i pick could have dimensions different from the one there. want to avoid having to do new chrome offsets to allow for it being further out / less far from wall. just want any easy swap. could get luck...

Pipe slicing. Once took it for granted, now becoming an issue.

I use this one. Have always used this one. Never had any problems. Then recently it started to get caught, mangle the pipe up or cut grooves. Tried another, did the same. Tried my mates - which she has had for about a year and had no problems previously and it now does the same. So is it cheap...

How do you top up this glow worm boiler?

Is it the blue bit? Couldn't see filling loop unless boxed in below.

Installing bath on fully tiled wall

Custard has wet room and they want bath installed. Presuming the main problem (apart from painstakingly pre-drilling holes for fixings) will be that it's bound not to sit square on wall. Any tips?

Anyone know what the twiddly things onend of kitchen mixer spouts are called?

And where to get them and how universal they are to fit to any kitchen mixer? You move them around to change water flow direction without moving spout about. Thanks

If you were guaranteed forever to be the only plumber in your town

And therefore had to actively fight away customers, could afford to be unbelievably choosy and decided that you would be wise - not to mention at liberty - to be as discriminatory as you'd like, what might you write differently on your leaflets/website/business cards or say on the phone? I'd...

Customer "didn't" install his own WC inlet.

Despite tools everywhere and frantic demeanour. It'd be fine for years but suddenly wasn't shutting off. Either way....

2 Questions: Basin brackets and 'Unusual' WC

Unos :- Seems like these type of basin brackets are usually used with makeshift packing of anything to hand between bracket and basin to try and get it to sit upright because basin usually wants to hang forward a bit. Is there a better less bodgey way to get these to work properly and hold...

    Anyone identify this inlet valve?

enters cistern on the end of a 3/8" hose, clipped to the flush valve. Thanks

Can you only thermostatically control a mixer tap?

As opposed to an individual single hot tap? Never installed TMV's before. Customer has basin with two separate basin taps. Wants hot at set child friendly temp. Thanks.

How easy would it be to change this monstrosity to exposed mixer shower?

He said it's not electric. Have never installed anything like this so don't know what would be behind it. In short, would there almost certainly need to be a retile (partial or otherwise) or not? Thanks

Are there seats which can be fitted to back to wall pans without removing pan?

If so, any links/recommendations to decent ones, soft close pref. Thanks
