Am I allowed to sort these two "boiler" issues?

I am not Gas Safe. Therefore I don't touch boilers apart from topping up after drain downs. Hence I don't know whether I am allowed to do anything else. Doesn't tend to come up but oddly enough it just did. Twice. Excuse the lack of knowledge of what the bits are but as I said, it aint my area...

drained combibation cylinder, hot flow slighlty reduced on refill

Tried back feeding through two different mixers. Drained and refilled again, while doing odd backfill to try and shake out at blockage. Flow is ok, just apparently slightly reduced according to owner (she seems honest) What else to try?

    Removing water meter

I presume you're allowed to remove it just to muck around with pipework either side i.e. putting a new stopcock above an old one etc and then put it back? Not doing anything to it or changing it's position or attempting to pipe it in a way that allow bypassing. I mean when it's inside a...

Is some part of the cost of a second van tax deductible?

    * EDIT: (thread title should read) Is some part of the cost of outright buying a second hand van tax deductible? I've heard you can claim for all or some of hire purchase but if you just buy a van for a couple of grand in one go, second hand, can you claim some back? If so I guess it'd be best...

Anyone know a source of grey head basin taps?

I'm all googled out. Old chap has grey everything in his bathroom but the basin tap is knackered the old heads won't fit on modern revivers. He doesn't mind what type of tap (single pillar though, not mixer) or what shade of grey as there are various shades of grey in there, but it's kind of a...

    What was this fitting?

Changed a ball valve in loft today. Lead feed was wiped onto 1/2" tap connector (copper/brass.) But inside the nut where there'd usually be a housing for fibre washer, ptfe, hemp, whatever was a sort of protuding flat face. It was same size as fibre washer. Just put it on top and carefully...

    Pneuamtic flush issue

Flush no longer works. Took tube off button and blew down (not excessively hard but a good blow) and flush worked. Put on new tube, connected to button, still didn't work. What's the solution? New button or whole new set-up?

Didn't come with any instructions for leg set up but found this picture. Does this look like the right way they get put together?

Kitchen tap suitable for "gravity fed systems only"

Swirl Divine Mono Mixer Kitchen Tap | Kitchen Mixer Taps | NoLinkingToThis Presumably this can't mean tank cold too as it's a kitchen tap. Anyone come across a tap that says that before? Perhaps the hot side is made in such a way that it would be an uncontrollable jet if put on mains hot from a...

    Diyers on plastic!!

I took a speedfit fitting off a copper pipe once and saw and insert in it. The other extreme! A very cautious DIY'er instead of a lunatic one.

Have you ever blown down the inlet to a outside tap with check valve?

Great fart noise. Very entertaining. Impossible to do it quietly which I think the source of the amusment.

Any ideas how I could replace this with fluidmaster dual flush?

It's a Thomas Dudley penumatic. Customer said it was iffy from day one and replacements from toilet spares website are very expensive. Would like to put in fluidmaster. There's a 550mm cable version which should reach the distance the previously installed pneumatic noodles travelled. But this...
