    First time DIY plumbing

I should add RICKY that I 100% agree that the compression fitting is the better way to do it. Just not for someone who's a total novice. But like I said, I don't think total novices should attempt plumbing on their own anyway.

    First time DIY plumbing

I have to say I disagree for a total novice to use this fitting. It's compression which is harder to use than pushfit. If he's gonna use compression, then at least watch some videos' on Youtube. It may be basic for us, but for a novice it can go badly wrong. For instance, if he screws it on...

    First time DIY plumbing

BTW - went to two jobs in November where people had royally messed up DIY with plastic pipe....lot's of liberated water, and desperation to get an emergency repair to their mistakes. So think twice before you start cuting pipes up.

Don't forget you'll need inserts for the plastic pipe, and a proper cutter. Again, many types available.

I'm sorry my advice is to get a qualified plumber in. You want to connect to the wc in plastic pipe. You need a 1/2" tap connector to 15mm fitting. Such as:

Are those red pipes just copper tube? Very odd colour.

Dear me. What is that connected to the copper fittings in the top picture? It looks bright red on my screen. I have a useless roll of 16mm red barrier pipe that I got from an underfloor heating job. It's not plastic is it? The kinked flexi hose on the WC, what do you want to do to that?

DIY Project To Zone My House

I'll say it one last time. (Others have all said it). Then I'll leave you to do what you want. Get rid of the three port valve. Fit 2 port valves, all with their own stat, and preferably with their own timer too. This includes the hot water cylinder....which you can still use the existing...

    Commercial kitchen appliances

Anyone on here qualified for commercial kitchen appliances? I look after the plumbing/heating for four pubs owned by two different people. Both have now asked me if I want to look after their kitchen appliances. Said, I can't as I'm not qualified. Does anyone know of a firm in Kent or Sussex...
