    refitting carpets after work

    Possibly the job I hate most. I have a Back boiler change to combi coming up and need to lift the landing and bedroom carpet. Do you use a knee kicker? get a carpet fitter to sort or just lay it back as best possible and let the customer deal with it?

    I need to fit a thermostatic mixer shower (replacing electric) in an existing bathroom. This means the pipes will need to drop down from the loft in chrome. Any recommendations for a nice shower that doesn’t need the stand off kit?

    Foam case seal for old boiler

    I had to AR an Ideal WLX are the foam case seal has crumbled away. The part is now obsolete and the lady says she can’t afford a new boiler (not my problem I know but I would like to help if possible) After a bit of googling reign make a foam seal that’s heat resistant to 120 degrees. Would you?

    Fitting a boiler and the gas meter and outlet gas pipe are less than 150mm from the fuseboard. Is this NCS?

    Do you fit them when fitting a combi? What type? Mechanical shock arrestor or mini expansion vessel with shreader valve? Do you service them annually?

    I need to get to a horizontal flue while Replacing a boiler. It’s on the 3rd floor and about 12m high Higher than my triple extension and seems to be higher than most for sale. Any ideas other than a scaffold?

    I know it depends on pressure but is there a rule of thumb limit to the litres per minute that can pass through a cheap 15mm isolation valve?

    I have done a system upgrade to a combi There is a triton LP thermostatic shower in the bathroom that’s now dripping from the cartridge. Can anyone suggest a straight swap for the shower or can I fit a HP cartridge?

    Back boiler and fire Q

    Quoting to convert from a back boiler to combi. The customer has been told by another that they can keep the fire connected to the gas and I always thought that couldn’t be done. what do you guys think?
