    MT10RF replacement on greenstar junior24i combi mk3

The clock timer on the Mt10rf transmitter does not work, but it can be used in day mode to get the heating on. Is Drayton LP10RF a suitable replacement? I guess the receiver from this would need to be used rather than the existing Worcester one?

Which ceiling fed pumped shower are you using nowadays?

I used to like the Aqualisa Visage but now too expensive and unnecessary ‘smart’ features seem obligatory.

    Fitting a pocket door.

Have an en-suite to create from scratch, customer would like a pocket door into the room. Can anyone recommend a kit they have used, studwork will be 38 x 89 cls with 12.5” plasterboard and skim coat (~120mm total). I will be doing all the work but have never fitted one before. There seems to...

    Shower size help/advice (DIY)

What are the dimensions involved? And is it a shower tray with three sides tiled and therefore just one side to screen off. Assuming it is three sides tiled. 1) a full width sliding door to full enclose area, this will be water tight. 2) a piece of glass as wide as possible to allow access...

Bar shower mixer valve help (DIY)

If you really want to you can remove the valve and the shrouds then cut off the excess threads with a hacksaw. You need to file the resulting face nice and flat as this is what the seal is made against. I have done this for fussy customers in the past but most people don’t worry about it.

    Charging electric vans.

What do you think will happen in the future when we all have electric vans and need to charge them up at the customer’s property and electricity prices are sky high? Will they read the meter and try and knock it off the bill? Will we all have some sort of card reader where electricity gets...

Anyone used Ferroli 50l unvented, any good?

I’m talking about the wall mounted water in/out at the bottom, small unvented cylinders. I have used Hyco 50l powerflow unvented, they come with all the controls for just under 400. Anyone have experience of Ferroli SEV 50 l unvented as they seem quite a lot cheaper, 240.

new kitchen designed and want to move the washing machine across one space

You will not have room behind an integrated machine to have a standpipe anyway, often there is not even room to have a plug and socket. Just use the existing standpipe. You say you’re having the kitchen designed and installed - it’s not really your problem , they will sort it out.

Anyone know which diaphragm is in a Roca inlet valve?

Is it torbeck, fluid master, regular ball valve or its own special one? I’m talking about that one in the lauras which has an oval float in a shroud.

    Supply hose for water boiler

I have been asked to fit a Marco water boiler, it has a 3/4” bsp for the inlet but no hose with it(2nd hand). Do I need a posh food grade hose £15, or can I use a washing machine one £2 for WRAS approved.

Anyone fitted an enamel steel shower tray?

I have a Bette Ultra 1800 x 800 enamelled steel shower tray to fit. Anything I can find says to use leg/frame kit, which I don’t have and anyway don’t want the height. Anyone done one? Can I just bed it on tile adhesive? Not sure if the steel will “stick” - but if it makes a fully supported...

    DIY advice - saddle clips

Bath/shower mixer hot to bath but goes cold when put to shower?

Going to look at thermostatic Hansgrohe ecomax today, the customer says it’s fine on bath fill but goes cold when put onto shower. I thought both went through the thermostatic cartridge and am unsure how what see says could happen. It used to work fine, I can only think cartridge is on its last...

    Dudley vantage flush valve problem

Concealed cistern, this one has pan fan and is operated by IR button if that makes any difference. The usual problem of letting by into pan, we are in a hard water area and things do get scaled up. I have replaced the niagara dual pneumatic flush valve yet still on occasion the valve will stick...

    G3 unvented training.

Having recently fitted three Monsoon 3 bar pumps, two universal, I found myself thinking I would like to be able to offer my customers the alternative of fitting an unvented cylinder. These pumps are superb but quite costly (note I don't say expensive as I think they are good value) and...
