Go for it !!! Don't let this put you off asking questions just see if you can word them a bit better. PS. So you don't have to do the written projects in cold, hot or heating then ? (would not expect that you would do the sanitation one being just a Fitter !!! LOL) If so, your lucky they are...

    Water Regs?

Sorry if you thought it was a "narky" answer (what ever that is ) but you new it was a strange question otherwise you would not have finished your question the way you did ! If you are going to be a good engineer after you finish this year, I would of thought that you would be seeking as much...

    Water Regs?

So if I understand you correctly you are saying the Law would treat you differently if you killed somebody through your actions but were ignorant of the requirements rather than if you new what was required ?? What like running somebody over & killing them doing 45 mph in a 30 & then claiming...

    lack of water flow

Hi Dave If the neighbours have the same type of property as you then it is likely that the problem is the incoming mains, if you do want a better flow rate from it to run the combi or even for an un-vent hot water system. The best option is probably to up size the main but this can be a lot of...

    lack of water flow

That is very harsh nicro3, wether my business model means I make a charge up front for the work I do & the skill I employ to investigate a problem or you choose to put your cost for the investigation onto the repair work at the end of the day the customer pays for the service provided & they...

    lack of water flow

Dave the minimum your water undertaker can legally supply you with is a very poor 6 L/m @ 1 Bar street side (10Meters) As a starting point have you asked your neighbours what their supplies are like, if similar then I am afraid it is just the vagaries of a combi on an old mains water system...

    lack of water flow

I don't think so, if we went out to your property to investigate this we would be taking pressure readings & flow rates from more than just the one tap / meter & checking pipework, we would make a charge for this service, why would we ?? (of course the information we found would then be yours)...

cold water combination valve replacement - megaflow

Which is why it is so important to find an engineer you cant trust, who knows what they are doing, even if you have to pay a bit more. If you can post a photo of the Megaflo hot water cylinder & surrounding pipework / valve, someone will tell you if there are any problems or not. These systems...

cold water combination valve replacement - megaflow

cold water combination valve replacement - megaflow

If you don't mine me asking what are they quoting to install the new valve ? Have you got a second or third quote ? What did you have done for £800. If the pressure reducing valve is leaking it is likely that the spring inside has rusted this normally results in low pressure which the new valve...
