    Intermittent hot water from taps

Opening any of the hot taps whichever room they're in should activate the dhw, if not then a gas engineer is needed as the boiler needs attention. I'm guessing you're not a gsr otherwise you'd have already fixed this problem. No offence intended but it sounds like it's time to pass the baton on...

    Aussie DIY

I had a plumbing issue at my house the other day. After hours of looking for a decent plumber I happened across the website of JC plumbing, it seemed just the ticket so I phoned him and he was round to sort the problem out in no time. What a thoroughly nice bloke he was too, and good looking...

DIYer worried about his DIY plumbing

Putting plumbers mait on the thread won't help to seal it, but it won't do any harm either, if it's not leaking now it probably won't. No need to worry

replacement headgear for 'very old' stopcock

Hi guys, wondering if any of you know a decent stockist for the above? The stoptap is half buried in a wall and lead both sides and the handle has snapped off. I had a couple of different sized stopcocks in my kit but they would not fit. Took the head gear down to 2 different plumbers merchants...

    Question about a drain smell

Hi guys, My mum's had a plumbing issue in her house that has gone on for a year or two. Every so often, maybe every 2 weeks or so, when she empties the bowl in the kitchen, or runs the tap in the kitchen she can smell the drains in her living room. There's a solid floor in the kitchen and the...

Tool for stubborn tap head gear?

As the title suggests. Anyone know of a decent tool for removing a really stubborn tap head gear? I've usually managed to crack them after a while but one job a couple of months ago had me beat, the customer had these really old taps and he loved them and I was close to threading the 'nut' part...
