Hi

I have a Franke Wave tap which is dripping water when the levers are turned off - from basic research it looks like I may need to replace the valves.
I presume there is one each handle?

Combi boiler losing pressure for a few months. Serviced yesterday and engineer said he thinks boiler is OK and there is a leak in the pipe which I should have investigated (by the original installer).
I then emailed the original installer - but I now noticed the pressure was set to 2 last...
I am re-doing my outside drainage (see separate thread). It is an ideal time to re-jig my kitchen sink waste as it is taking up too much of my cupboard space.
I had an idea of what I wanted and found that in fact McAlpine already make a product with the correct configuration which sets the...
About a year ago I had a a big renovation done (using professionals) and this included new central heating, plumbing and bathroom.
2 jobs I had to finish on my own was installing the bath panel and putting a doorstop into the bathroom floor. This was right at the end just as I was about to move...
Hi
Can someone help me understand what this drainage connection is made of?

Firstly there is the strap on boss which looks welded on - as does the plastic inset - it is not a rubber insert.
What is the next thing before the first 90 degree bend?
I need to...
Possibly both a plumbing and paving query.

The single black pipe is my kitchen sink and the other 2 black pipes are my dishwasher and boiler.

I am looking to save water - primarily by adding after market products to my shower and taps to reduce flow rate.
The water companies offer many products to reduce flow rate on visible pipework but my plumbing work has isolation valves on every pipe before every tap.
Is there any reason why I...
Hi
DIYer here - confident in doing compression fittings on water pipes - but obviously not able to work with gas.
I need to remove some pipes as shown in the photo below. I intend to cut them off and put stop ends on them.

I want to make more efficent use of the space by trying to my the P trap out of the way.
Can I take the P trap off and place it on the pipe along the back wall right near where the pipe exists the...
Got a potential headache on my hands.
I have recently had my house refurbished- we went all the way back to the joists and I saw all new central heating pipes and electrics going in - as well as the floorboards and a layer of hardboard on the upstairs floor and plywood in the bathroom go on...
Hi
I need to conenct a few 110mm waste pipes - one of thsoe jobs where I wil ldo it ocne so don;t want to spend a fortune.
I ntoe that you should use a silicone lubricant to make the push fit joists go together properly.
I coudl use fiary liquid but I suspect I may have to continually make...
Long story short - having a massive refurb - all copper pipes newly installed
I went to a lot of trouble of sinking some copper pipes for radiators in the floor by buying plastic ducting. I am aware that contact with cement may cause degredation of copper pipes in the long term - although...
I have a 32mm condensate pipe sticking out the wall for a combi.
It comes out the wall about 1m from the ground. It then needs to turn left and travel 3m where it will join right at the bottom of a soil pipe through a strap on boss.
My question is - can I put the 3m bit (as long as it is...

I am looking to have a Worcester Bosch compact fitted in my kitchen cupboard as per below.
Imagine if I to the right of the boiler was an extractor and on the worktop there was a gas hob. Would this be allowed?
A guy I had round today said it wouldn't be allowed as the boiler is plastic and...
Tossing up between these 2. We tend to use our thermostat as an on/off switch as there is little point scheduling as we have no set routine.
Advantage for the NEST is the wheel is easier to operate which is relevant as I have elderly users who will not understand the swipes/display on the WAVE...
I know the plastic/copper argument has been done to death - I've got 2 particular questions for my own scenario though...
My default psoition would be to have copper but I have 2 reasons preventing that at the moment
1) I have had a new floor put in with brand new joists and I hear notching...
Why is it every plumber you speak to gives you a different view of what the best way of doing something is?
First there was the argument about copper v plastic. Now its 15mm or 10mm plastic.
So I had a guy in today to quote on a new boiler. He was really good and suggested I go for 10mm pipe...
1) you know the pipe that comes out of the house - condesnse I believe - what can it exit into?
I have 2 pipes 1 - is the soil pipe and one is for surface water and 1 goes into a soakaway - can it go into either?
Can it connect straight into the black guttering type stuff or does it need to...
I am having a new boiler fitted soon.
I need to remove all old pipe (which should be easy as I have all the ceilings down so can see all the pipes)
I am going to remove all of the old copper and sell it and then have new pipes (they will be in different positions anyway).
Problem is that...
