Pan connector to soil, not sure what needed

So bloody obvious when someone points it out. Thanks!

Pan connector to soil, not sure what needed

Hi all, Need to change this pan con and am not sure what I'm looking at where the pan con and the soil meet? I'm guessing it's not just a regular one needed? The piece of solid plastic pipe immediately after the flexible section ends looks a smaller bore than the soil sticking out from the...

    What are these weird-a** pipes/fittings?

Never seen them before. I just need to cap them off as they come out the wall... What would I need to do so (properly / safely)? Any idea why the fittings are all different colours too? Thanks

Is it ok to use male tapered fittings for female flexi ends?

Or does the fact they are tapered mean the flexi might work it's way loose? e.g. https://www.NoLinkingToThis/p/flomasta-sfu-0269-brass-compression-adapting-male-elbow-15mm-x-1-2-/355kr

Anyone advertise/been involved with emergency work?

I don't mean happening to be available when an emergency comes in but actually advertising as an emergency plumber. How does it work? I can envisage something like a £100 call out for turning up within an hour of a call, paid via card machine before entering the property, then work on top at...

What is the black threaded cap on filling loop for?

I've tried to find the answer online but can't. I'm guessing it might be a drain point allowing you to bypass the double check? And if so, do you turn off the valves, open the cap, attach a hose (half inch female flexi stylee?) and then when you open the valve above it you can let off the...

    Leaking drain-off...

Basic stuff for most of you no doubt but we all have our ignorances. This drain off is leaking (from the end of the bit water is meant to come out of when in operation). It's also basically pointless as I doubt you'd get a hose on it, although I suppose you could try tightening it into the...

Draining water from vacant property over winter

Would you do literally everything? So drain fully drain central heatings system and drain the cylinder too? Or would you just do loft tanks and turn off mains, open taps? Thanks

Do you reckon a compression coupler should go over horizontal pipe?

Want to change waste and change trap for plastic. If I can get a compression coupler over that little bit of horizontal waste pipe I can do the rest as have box of loads of random waste bits and pieces. But if I cut off the trap and then find nothing goes over that bit of pipe I'm screwed...

Anyone know of a kitchen mixer with threaded fixing bolt at the front?

Needs to be suitable for gravity fed hot and preferably from Screwfix, Toolstation, Wickes, B&Q. I know some have the bolt at the front as have randomly noticed, but can't remember which. Hoping someone did one recently and remembers. It's either than or really awkward cutting out of backing...

Been told there is scale in my boiler/ CH circuit

Hi, I have my boiler on a boiler plan with Baxi. The heating hadn't been turned on since spring (a rookie mistake no doubt.) Engineer visited but he was only there to service. I think he briefly called for heating while doing whatever he was doing and then said it went "crazy" noise wise and...

    Can I re-site a meter (inside property)?

Hi, Am I allowed to move a water meter? It's in a kitchen cupboard and she wants a Surestop fitted and in order to do so I'd need to move the meter somewhere else in the cupboard. There is an original old stopcock inconveniently placed she can't get at, then the meter. I'm thinking as long as I...

What do you reckon? Sorry photo isn't that clear, it's what they sent me.

Do NRV's reduce flow on gravity and/or need minimum pressure to work?

Fitted a mixer tap and the mains forces it's way back up gravity hot. But the hot pressure is already very poor due to it being a flat with a combination cylinder on the same floor level as the tap. Carefully chose one that looked fairly modern (as customer wanted) but had good flow on low...

Could I have caused this water hammer?

Hi, I removed and replaced a small section of copper pipe with a new section as it had a leaking soldered joint. It was under the kitchen sink, about 300mm max, with a few tee's on it that were splitting off to feed washing machine, kitchen mixer, and off to supply other parts of house. The...

Fitting an AAV to this bit of external soil

Hi all, Custard has this open topped bit of soil which obviously stinks. She has bought two, for some reason, AAV's and tried sticking them in the end but still stinks. I've zero experience with soil and vent but I'm guessing the soil needs the socket cut off and these get solvent welded inside...

    "post flush drips"......................

Put new fill and flush valve in two WC's. Done this job many hundreds of times, never have any callbacks. One toilet fine, the other one has like annoying infrequent drip, drip from inside the pan. I checked the flush seal, sealing surface inside cradle nice and smooth, tried a new valve in...

Shortening a bit of pipe done with press fit

I need to shorten this run of white plastic pipe that ends in what I presume is a press fit fitting which then goes into the compression tee. I don't have any press fit stuff. Do I just need to identify the brand of pipe and then get a couple of inserts and then I can use a compression coupler...

    Changing sink bib taps

Need to change these... Not tackled any of these before. What am I looking at here, is this a standard copper to iron (15mm compression one side, female 3/4" the other side) fitting with a 3/4" male ended bib tap screw in? So identical to an outside tap? Or do the bib taps have ends already...

Cloudy water from hot on combi

On googling it seems this is not sediment, just c02. It turns clear within a few seconds on standing still. Also "more apparent in hard water areas and from models with perhaps slower and/or lower flow rates." Check and check. What I want to know is why it only started recently? It also started...
