    Crappy Glow Worms

    Had to do a drain down for a rad repair yesterday. Turned the boiler off on the front of the boiler, did the work. It wouldn't power up again! I tested it through, and it was the bloody switch on the boiler! I had a really hard time explaining that one to the custard.

    I've been asked to quote for bbu out and a combi in, on a static. What are the regs on fitting/fire proofing a boiler. Is it just mount it on fire proof board, or is there more to it. Im to bone idle and thick to read ten pages of regs, that can be explained in two sentences. (Hopefully)

    Hi all, got an e168 on a potterton equivalent of the duo Tec. Spoke to a guy I know at tech, he said check electrodes and diverter isn't stuck. electrodes look spot on, diverter can't be stuck because hw and htg all working and switching over. So I put a new board in it, two hours later e168...

    As above 105e flashing on 30 and 50. Never seen this before, anybody else seen it? I'm sure it's the pcb, I've ordered a new one. Thought I'd seen everything on these.

    Neutrals in room stats

    I was always lead to beleive that putting neutrals, in room stats on combis or conventional systems, helped the stat perform better. But today the guy that was helping me reckons it nonsense. After reading the instructions again , I think he might have a point.

    Got an s30 code with the room stat and controls linked. I'm thinking pcb. Hot water fails occasionally, but it all fires, sometimes. So pump , fan, gas valve all proved to my mind.

    High efficiency pumps and programmers, beware.

    Today i fitted a new lifestyle 112 on a gravity system, and I couldn't stop power going to the pump. Rang lifestyle, and the draw from the pump fuses the programmer into constant power to the pump. A resistors required! I fitted the pump three months ago, oh joy.

    Hi fellas, I've got a Vaillant 831 Eco Tec plus with s10. The boiler thinks the hot tap is running. I'm thinking flow switch, anyone repaired one or cleaned one? Or had other outcomes to this fault?
