    Isolating valve

Is it good practice what I'm planning to do. I want to drain the central heating and then put 2 isolating valves on the flow and return in readiness for when I purchase another radiator and that way after doing a little bit of pipework I can just top the system up. I want to drain now while the...

    What valve is the flow

Also, washing machine hoses could be an option because they are the same thread as my existing valves. I'll buy a 2 metre hose and attach to both valves and see what gets hot first as they'll only be on for a few seconds.

    What valve is the flow

    What valve is the flow

I bought the above fittings like you mentioned and they don't fit the radiator valves. Surely you meant 3/4-15mm fittings?

    What valve is the flow

The valves by Reina are said to be non bi directional so linking the two pipes together will tell who's who :)

I did think of that. But not sure of the fittings to get.

    What valve is the flow

Hi all I removed a radiator off the wall and forgot to note what valve was the flow as I'll be replacing with a new radiator with a trv. Without putting back and re connecting how can I tell what pipe is the flow and what pipe is the return because I assume the trv goes on the flow. Btw both...

    Dual flush syphon

I need to fit a syphon to my loo over the weekend. What I'm seeing on screwfix is dual flush. Is this ok for a standard lever loo?

    Lux Heat Column Radiators?

I'm contemplating treating the front room to some aluminium column rads. Looking on the justradiators site there's 1 that fits the bill at nearly 2 metres long. A company called Lux Heat makes the rad I'm interested in. Anyone heard of this make and are they ok?

    Bath waste leak washer required

Hi All Every now and then I have to unscrew the chrome waste which is attached under my freestanding bath and pull all the hair out from the plug hole. Ideal Logic 30kw boiler

I'm in the market for a new boiler. Been recommended the above boiler by an installer. Is it any good or should I stick to Bosch Worcester?

    power flush cost?....................................

British gas done their anal service on the boiler this morning and the guy said I need a power flush which I'd guessed anyway. Quoted me £800. Obviously the British gas have astronomical overheads so how much would it be roughly from Joe Bloggs the plumber?

    Worcester Bosch35CDI Mk2 Room thermostat

I have a remote/wireless room stat for the above boiler. Granted it's a few years old but still working. Anyway the stats info sometimes disappears and when I push the battery compartment up it sometimes comes back to life. After taking the batteries out and prising the terminations out it...

    radiator warm at bottom

My 2 radiators in the front room are hot at the top and barely warm at the bottom. Would it be because they are full off crap at the bottom or something else? A few years ago I noticed this and hosed the radiator but didn't see no sludge come out. One is a 6ft double and the other a 5ft double...

    Leaking belfast sink waste

As the title says. I've installed a belfast sink over the weekend and the waste just keeps leaking. Firstly I put plumbers mate under the waste and tightened the plastic lock nut. Water is finding its way under the chrome waste (85mm in diameter) and trickles down the thread. After speaking to a...

    flow and return pipes

Should the flow and return pipes on my radiators be of the same temperature when the boiler is fired up? The reason I ask is because one pipe on the rad is really hot and the other is warm and the same on another rad in the same room. is this normal? cheers

    Toilet feed leaking

The 15mm pipe that goes into the bottom of my toilet cistern keeps leaking. The part that's leaking is where the metal fitting screws onto the plastic pipe that comes from the toilet. I have just renewed the washer that seats in the fitting and tightened up, turned on the mains and it's still...
