Persistent air issue in pipework through loft

Evening chaps, I'm having a bit of a mare with a pumped shower I fitted a few months back. The customer had an existing gravity shower fitted & wanted a pump fitting. I put an RP75PT in the loft on the original pipework, a Surry flange on the cylinder and AAVs on the positive side of the pump...

    L/L cert for replacement fire

Easy chaps, I had cause to condemn an inset fire the other week in a rental. I'm due to replace it with a new one. Do I need to complete another separate L/L cert for the new fire, or is the fact that it's new & commissioned in accordance with MIs enough to cover the job?

How to break a back boiler

So, my dear ol' ma lives in a local authority bungalow with a bag-o'-sh1te back boiler, make unknown. She loathes & despises the thing with a passion and yearns for a shiny new A rated boiler. She keeps asking me if I can break it beyond repair without making it look obvious or endangering...

    Flue replacement

Got a custard who wants to have the top section of his flue replaced with some nice modern tinny-looking stuff. The top of the precast flue section is asbestos & appears to be pre-formed. Does anyone know if there's a pre-formed metal replacement available, or would I have to get one made up?

    Noisy Worcester

Hi guys, been to look at an old 35CDi II. Works fine on c/h, but open a hot tap.... boiler fires, heats up, starts knocking, pressure gage jumps about a bit, then it goes out. 10 secs later starts all over again. The pin in the diverter moves across ok & stays in dhw position while ever a hot...

    Siting air vent for IDFE

I need to fit a 100cm2 air vent for an IDFE fire. The custard asked if it can go on a wall that back onto a ginnel that's open at one end. Seeing as it's technically open to outside air, would that be acceptable?

Hi All, got an issue with an Instant 80HE. I've done a couple of jobs on it already - replaced expansion/storage vessel & the 3 way solenoid head. Been back to it again today. Repairing a leaking cylinder

Enjoyed Ray's little wind-up this morning . To business though: I've come across an economy 7 direct fortic that's leaking (well, dripping) from a pinhole in the bottom. Priced up a replacement - £600! Now I've heard of people who say that they've repaired cylinders from Araldite-ing a...
