    Honeywell DT90E

I replaced my old bellows type room stat a year or so ago with a Honeywell DT90E. All very good until this morning when it started cycling on and off about once per second. I took batteries out - they are still good - put them back and now all is normal again. Has anyone seen this before?

Weeping 10mm compression joint on radiator TRV

After four years of not leaking, the 10mm compression joint on one of my son's TRVs has decided to weep -resulting in combi pressure loss within a few days. I have slackened it off a tad and retightened and will keep an eye on it. It was already very tight, so I am expecting it to still weep and...

    Galvanised cold water main

One of my work mates has a house built late 50's with what he described as a galvanised cold water supply pipe. Did they really use galvanised steel for water pipes back then? I suppose it was a cost-saving measure. The question is - with the age of this installation, should he be thinking of...

    Solvent Weld Waste

I have some Floplast solvent weld solvent - will this work with Hunter MuPVC or do I need to buy compatible pipe/solvent? And don't say use compression!

    10mm Plastic Coated Microbore Leak?

I noticed a small raised area, about 50mm across, 3 or 4mm high in the wall directly above the return feed from a radiator in my sons house last night. It's a dot n dab wall which I redecorated a year ago (blown vinyl, emulsion painted) when I was refurbing the house and there was no such bulge...

    Installation of Replacement Bath

Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place! I have a property which I rent out and have been quoted £$%*£!! for installing a replacement bath by a general builder that works for the letting agent. This is a straight swap of a standard sized bath - keeping existing (nearly new) taps, no...

Tap holes in acrylic bath are too large

I have replaced 2 separate bath taps with a 2 hole mixer on an acrylic bath. The fixing centres are fine, but the holes are so big that the foam seal only just covers the holes. Consequently we get loads of water dripping through the holes when the shower is used. A bead of silicone round the...

    Worcester Bosch 30CDi Faulty?

I had a 30CDi installed a year ago as a replacement for a conventional system. All the rads were left, but each fitted with TRVs. After a month or so, I noticed one of the rads was rusted through at the back and as they were all 20 or so years old, I replaced them all one by one over a couple of...
