HI.
I'm looking for a replacment from my Ideal Mexico that has started giving off some nasty smells.
The gas engineer says that:
a) he doesn't know what the smell is - although he's serviced and resealed all the joints he can - its not made much difference.
b) He says that the smoke test up the 10 meter victorian chimney is marginal at best (even when hot) and that on another day he might fail it!
c) my CO alarm never goes off even when placed right next to the boilder.

So - on to getting a new one - what are the good makes/manufacturers for a floor standing replacement that will plug into the existing conventional set-up? We can exit the condensing flue elsewhere!
Its a five bedroom/2 bathroom large Victorian terrace - not exactly very well insulated with solid walls and single glazed windows!
What is a typical!?! price for doing something like this.
cheers

Move boiler. I'd fit a nice quiet Worcester greenstar system boiler

You'd be looking 1000 - 5000 depending on location and other site factors, basically. Call as many plumbers as you like. But!! The cheapest may not be the best

And to have a good job. Pay a good rate. It will last you 10 years.

You could pay 1000 and replace it in 2 years
