but then again they are building 5000 new homes in my back yard maybe this is why

I doubt its much to do with supply and demand, more to do with adding another string to your bow, if you can afford to become Gas Safe registered you can then do extra work you couldn't before giving yourself a bit more versatility.

1 within a mile of my house (a neighbour).

6 within 5 miles.

32 in my town post code, pop approx 40,000
sounds like plenty of customers, but its not
60 odd in next town 5 mile away
they come here, we go there....

each plumber needs around 5000 customers each, so only enough for 1-2 plumbers then, hang on then theres 25 others competing for those too.

do some maths.
1 in 10 need a plumber each week divided by 352 = 1.4 jobs a day x say £40 per hour = "60 per day, oh yes divide that by 25 plumbers?.

forget the boilers and bath swops for 3-5 years as they are new builds.
the only real work there is house bashing, if you can get on that is.

50 in my area. population 100k. so one person out of every 2000 is gas safe registered.

there are 17 houses in my street and there are 43 people GSR. My next door neighbour is a widow of 83, she passed her ACS last week, blinkin fast tracks ggrrrr

Some of those don't actually run a GSr business, they get registered to get a Job. cause if you look on the jobcentre website for Gas/plumbing jobs in the job description most say must be registered with gas safe to get the job. They do this so the company does not have to pay for Acs or Gas safe tickets for at least 2- 4 yrs.

go home and watch the telly or do the foreigners in your back yard?.

Just done a check and found there are 50 within a 0.72 mile radius......but I am the closest to me .......and as I do not work for any neighbours they are welcome to them

As for rating engineers,I place myself in the top 10 places and luckily so do my customers :001_icon16:
