larger part goes in fitting smaller in nut olive in between and yes they are as good as any compression fitting

used them loads, better than the single piece type in my opinion, had few dodgy ones

totally agree the one parts are crap will only use three part

Use PTFE tape with them though to ensure a seal.

i had some 3 part reducers the other day that didn't sit in the fitting properly!!!

I sometimes find I have to put some Boss Green on 22 to 15mm ones.
