Flue man

Went to price a combi swap yesterday , Worcester 28cdi, has a 3 port under the boiler!! I've never seen this before, I wondering weather it's been left in , from a conversion?

Is there a hot water tank as ive seen hot water cylinders fitted and a three port stuck under combi for seperation. What does the 3port seperate ?? ie rads , zones ?

Not quite sure , there are no tanks visible, I'm wondering weather to cut the valve out ad re-pipe, it wired to a seperate clock , which is live , but not used by the customer , there using the integral timer, hot water is run as normal from the combi.

Before you cut any pipes, switch the programmer on and see what the 3 port does and what pipes heat what. The last thing you want is cust saying that something was working before you touched it

Trace the pipes to find out exactly where they go or where theyve zoned and once u find out youl know the appropriate course of action. It maybe upstair downstair zones. Good luck flueman..

There has to be a reason. You say hot water operates from combi, could that just be the kitchen sink tap?

there is a worcester that has a three way integral looks like a combi as the cylinder f and r was often done in 15mmbut the three way is within the casing but close to the bottom
you may find its zoning or towel rail circuits and the clock only affe4cts those not the running of the combvi side
if you do need to zone the system two ports are easier to wire
