Hi new member here seeking basic advice on 3T connections.

The current system uses a conventional vented oil boiler on the ground floor and is an old single pipe sytem with the boiler feed and vent from the expansion tank connected across the hot water cylinder heat exchanger on the 1st floor. The boss won't put up with the slow heating response times anymore and I would like to repipe and convert to zoned S plan heating. If the output from the boiler on the ground floor runs directly to the pump located at the hot water cylinder on the 1st floor with no tees in the flow or return sections of this pipe is it still necessary to run piping to connect the boiler feed and return from the expansion tank directly to the boiler on the ground floor or can these connections be made before the pump and after the last return at the hot water cylinder? On the pump output side the connection order would be bypass valve, hot water cylinder heat exchanger, heating zone 1, heating zone 2 with flow controlled by 2 port valves.

Too many words, my head is fuzzy. So you are looking at 3 2 port valves. 1 hot water and 2 heating?

Yes 3 x 2 port valves - 1 HW + 2 heating.
I have tried to attach a drawing of what I mean about where the boiler vent and feed would be connected.

Thanks
