I have my initial ACS next week along with the CPA assessment, bit lost on a few things as the CPA was thrown in last minute. On a flueless appliance i really cant remember how you test, is it just the co2 setting + ratio with the probe in the cat? and if anyone has the time would it be possible to be shown a list of stuff they expect you to do on the ACS. Bet this post makes me sound like a right clown but im just a little nervous and anxious as what to expect.

welcome to our forum,
good luck with that and keep us posted on your outcome.

I found the Viper Work Books very helpfull for freshing my grey cells prior to the last ACS I took in 2007.

If you log onto the relevent manufacturers web site and down load the installation and use literiture it will probably contain all the info you are looking for.

Thats Tim speak for "I cant remember but do know where to find the info when I need it"

Tim

PS if blokes include their town in their details we could probably help each other more than just over the internet.

I have recently just done my CPA1 and it really is a doddle. On flueless appliance you will have to select correct prob to use. All you need to do is monitor CO levels in PPM and take a ratio reading and state whether it is within tolerances etc.

Did you do the CPA1 as a stand alone course, if so did you think it was value for money when allowing for taking time off work and the cost of the course/acredication fee?

I done my CCN1 CEN1 and CPA1 all within the course of 2 months.

The cost for my CPA was around £250 i think. It was one day revision and a 2 hour assesment although they book you in for half a day normally.

No, its a waste of time IMHO!

2 hours 'training' and a simple test. From Feb 2010 it is mandatory for peope who are not certified already. But otherwise youve got up until your 5 renewal date to do it.

Wow, they saw you coming!!!

Doing my Cookers, Water heaters AND CPA1 tomorrow and tuesday for £200!!!

Well to be fair its not just assesments I have been doing revision days for each element as Its my first time.

Not too fussed anyhow as my company has footed the bill.

I served my apprenticeship 6 years ago so a refresh was called for, plus had no formal gas training everything was taught to me from colleagues.
